Little Women Filming to Occur Next Week Amid Mild Tracing Delay; Cast & Crew Overall Hopeful and Determined
By: Charlotte Willson
This year, rather than host live shows open to the public, Conard Drama opted to have this year’s musical Little Women recorded and distributed to the Conard student body through a purchasing service. Conard Alum Will Fowler would handle the camera. However, filming of Little Women has been pushed back in order to accommodate the need for student contact tracing; three play participants were involved with the contact tracing maneuver, according to Ms. Kravetz, the Drama Teacher and Director. After the quarantining of cast members, Conard Drama will have their first day of musical recording take place on the 29th of March as opposed to the original plan of starting filming on the 19th.
As a member of the crew in this year’s production, and an attendee of the meeting announcing our push back date, it could be said that a feeling of deja vu hit all of us. Musical participants could not help but recall the day everyone was called down to the auditorium to hear the news that Conard Drama’s The Drowsy Chaperone was cancelled. Students remembered the rather solemn tone of the cancellation announcement meeting, and the feeling of apprehension leading up to the announcement. This year however, students felt as if the announcement had a different overall feeling. Cast members spoke about their hopefulness and determination to get back to work. As Ms. Kravetz put it “we are a very passionate group of artists who can't wait to share our work with our family, friends, and the community.” While this is a hurdle, it is one that that the Conard Drama community can certainly, and will, surmount.

Conard Drama is not only hopeful for a brighter end to this musical season, but is also determined to provide their audience with a truly astonishing performance of Little Women. Although it may look different this year, the superb performance of Conard Drama’s theater department will still shine through.
